2005: Led Longhorns to the national title with a defining performance in the Rose Bowl, passing for 267 yards and running for 200 while scoring winning touchdown with 19 seconds left. Second place in Heisman Trophy voting to USC`s Reggie Bush. Became the only Division I-A player to pass for 3,000 and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season. Threw for 26 touchdowns and ran for 12.

Career: Went 30-2 as a starter at Texas and gained a school-record 9,167 yards total offense. After some early struggles, in which some speculated he might be better suited to a different position, Young went on to rewrite much of the UT record book. Was already considered a prime NFL prospect until his Rose Bowl performance led many to think he might be the top player in the draft.
